Toys for Tots IDPA, BUG and PPC Matches

Despite the bitterly cold weather, we had a very good turn out for the Toys for Tots matches we held in November. Over 40 shooters turned out for event and we collected 51 toys and over $500 in cash donations. Lana Tuten and Lisa Fought went out and converted the cash to a pickup truck load of toys. Nearly 160 toys will go to the Toys for Tots program thanks to the generosity of the members of Fort Harmar Rifle Club and the other shooters that braved the cold to come to this match. Annual Banquet and Meeting

The club's annual banquet and meeting is fast approaching. Everyone should have gotten a reservation sheet with their membership renewal form by now. If you haven't received a renewal letter, please let us know and we will get one sent out to you. Please take the time to send those in if you plan on attending. In addition to a great dinner, business covered during the meeting will include new board member elections and the giving out of the volunteer Glock. This event will be held on January 22 at the American Legion post 64 in Marietta.

IDPA Style Safety Officer Training

On Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 9am to 4pm at the indoor range, the club will be conducting a safety officer class for the IDPA style matches we will hold next year. This free class will cover the S.O.'s role and responsibilities for running a safe and successful stage at one of FHRC's IDPA style matches. Everyone that is interested in becoming a Safety Officer is encouraged to attend. Although this is not an official IDPA S.O. class, successful completion of this class will entitle you to run a stage at one of our matches. Topics covered in this class include safety, emergency procedures, rules, equipment, duties of the S.O. and scorekeeper, stage layout and design. Please contact Don Fought or Bill Carroll to reserve a seat in this class.

Match Descriptions

Gary Bosworth has been working very hard creating a new website for our club. One thing he needs to complete this is for every match director to send him a short description of your match. Please include information about what the match is, what equipment and firearms are required, the times and cost of your match and contact information. Please get this to Gary at as soon as possible so that he can complete his work.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

We hope to see you all at the banquet.

Don and Lisa Fought
